There is now a dumpster available for the community located behind the Public Works building. Use of this dumpster will be free to City Residents ONLY for one week each quarter. For the 2026 year these dates will be January 5-10, April 6-11, July 6-11, and October 5-10. For the rest of the year, use of the dumpster will cost $20 per pick-up truckload. Hours for use of the dumpster are 6:00am-2:30pm.
CITY GARBAGE SERVICE
The City of Henagar currently services the Henagar City limits. We will begin servicing the Cartersville, Ider, Valley Head, Hammondville, Mentone, and greater Henagar area on July 1, 2025. Please refer any sanitation questions to City Hall at 256-657-6282.

Sanitation Service Rules:
- The City of Henagar does not dump blue cans.
- All trash in cans must be in bags with the lid on the can able to close. Nothing can be sticking out of the lid.
- Only household trash is accepted. No hazardous waste, metal, appliances, ect.
- Any cans with latches placed on them must be unlatched before pick-up.
- All cans must be placed 5ft apart from each other and any other object and within 4ft of the roadway.
- Driver’s are not allowed to exit the truck for any reason. Drivers are not allowed to speak to customers in the road due to safety concerns. Customers are not allowed to block the road in front of the trucks in order to speak to drivers.
- Any cans that violate these rules will NOT be picked up. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all rules are followed.
Customers may request a second dump in a week for a Friday pickup anytime BEFORE 3:00pm on Thursday of the same week for an additional charge.
Late Fees will be charged on any accounts not paid in full by the printed due date.
Annual discounts are available only in June of every year for customers who pay for one year of service.
